Counselling for children in Bournemouth and Poole
If you are searching for counselling for children in Bournemouth and Poole because your children fight when they are together, you may find the following blog useful. Listen to Radio 4 Saturday live program from 26.9.15 and hear the item on Hiding. One listener sent in an email telling her story. “My children always argue” she wrote “and once I locked myself in the bathroom because they were behaving so badly.” She went on to say that her children behaved significantly better for other people than they did for her.
She appeared to make light of the matter and the chuckling hosts of the show identified with her and told us, the listeners, how they knew how she felt.
There was little to laugh at. Here was a woman stuck and unable to change the stressful environment she experiences when she is together with her children.
What is happening and how can this woman change the situation she finds herself in when she is alone with her children is perhaps the right narrative to adopt in this matter rather than finding it a source of mirth.
There are probably a number of contributory factors that cause her children to behave the way they do. Poor parenting and “it’s just what brothers and sisters do” are not relevant discussions here and will only serve to bring shame and helplessness to this stress provoking situation. Also, seeing these matters in these ways will keep these issues hidden and, if they are ever spoken about, it will be in light-hearted terms only in order that the speaker avoids judgement.
One thing is for sure, when your kids argue all the time it wears you down, makes you feel like a bad parent and life seems tough.
